What is your role within Advanced Hires, and what’s your favorite thing about working at AH?

I’m a Technical Recruiter that focuses on our higher-level technical positions for the most part – a lot of positions within the Software Development life-cycle, ranging from staff-level all the way up to VP and Director level positions. It’s tough to pick one thing about Advanced Hires that I like most, but my favorite thing at the end of the day are the people that I work with who have become like family to me. That environment allows me to always feel like I’m in the best position to succeed every day, week, and month. It’s so great to come to work and enjoy being there each day with the people around you.

What do you look for in a candidate?

I of course look for someone to have the technical/professional qualifications for the role, but deeper than that I look for those other X Factors or intangibles that make a great candidate; drive, passion, and ambition, an engaging personality, and someone who’s not only looking to succeed/grow themselves, but also help those around them do the same.

What is the most helpful thing a client could tell you about their hiring process?

The most helpful thing a client can tell us about their process would be the areas of emphasis for various skillsets/technologies, as well as the culture/personality fit they look for. If I know what’s most important to them for the day-to-day skills/responsibilities as well as what makes the best team and culture fit, I can provide them strong, well-rounded candidates who check all the boxes.

What kind of people do you want to work with?

I love to work with people who are energetic, positive, and compassionate, who are passionate about trying to improve themselves and others, and who are creative, outside-the-box thinkers.

In your opinion, what makes a candidate stand out in the crowd?

For me, it’s the personality and culture fit. The skills, qualifications, and resume are the first thing we notice on the surface but having that unique personality/passion is the X factor at the end of the day.

List your three best qualities:

Compassionate, internally driven and motivated to succeed/help others, a personality that I think allows me to connect with anyone.

What’s something a stranger might be surprised to find out about you?

I’ve got 12 tattoos and counting 😃

What’s your favorite guilty-pleasure TV show?

The Office or Parks & Rec. I’ve seen both through several times and they never get old. 😃

What place in Milwaukee would you spend all your time at if you could?

At the beach, or on the river on a boat on a hot, sunny day with friends and family.
