Kevin Scholz and Tina Rock of Advanced Hires was honored to attend the 23rd Annual Tom Pipines Golf Classic at Western Lakes Golf Course in Pewaukee. It was great to hear Tom Pipines speak about his dedication to the Down Syndrome Association and all they stand for. It was also thrilling to watch Steve “The Homer” True volunteer his time to run an exciting live auction. Finally, it was especially moving to hear from people with Down Syndrome and see how they lead rich, fulfilling, and independent lives with support from organizations like the Down Syndrome Association and loved ones. This includes living on their own, having a drivers license, and going to college. One gentleman in the crowd with Down Syndrome announced he was getting married.
The annual Golf Outing is one of the key fundraising events for the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin each year. The Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin’s mission is to provide support to Wisconsin families and individuals with Down syndrome through awareness, education, information, programs, services, and the exchange of ideas and experiences. There are more than 8,000 people in Wisconsin with Down syndrome. Over the course of the year, DSAW touches the lives of more than 4,500 of these individuals and their families through the provision of services, education, resources and support.
Advanced Hires remains committed to giving back to the community and providing support, resources, and time to organizations that have a positive impact on our city. This is especially true with the Autism community. We will continue to offer our assistance in ways that foster a generous and supportive community experience.
