What Do Recruiters Look For in Candidates?
Good recruiters look for someone who obviously has the technical/professional qualifications for the role, but beyond that they also look for those “X Factors” or intangibles that make a great candidate. Drive, passion, ambition, an engaging personality, and someone who’s not only looking to succeed/grow themselves, but also help those around them do the same, are crucial qualities in a good candidate.
Recruiters also look for someone who is truly interested in moving their career forward. Good recruiters, like the ones at Advanced Hires, want to work with people they can have a professional, positive relationship with. They want to team up and have a partnership with this person, someone who needs and wants career counseling.
More specifically in the technology sector, many recruiters want to work for individuals who are able to communicate their role within a company effectively and efficiently. It’s about finding someone who may have technical skills and a good demeanor and/or personality; although someone who may not be as technical but understands what the business needs and can describe it in tech terms is great too.
