Q: What’s the number one thing companies are looking for nowadays?
There’s no exact right answer to this question unfortunately because different companies are looking for different things. There’s also the additional stress that COVID-19 puts on hiring and job searches. However, we are seeing that there is one thing more and more companies have begun to focus on lately. Obviously qualifications and skills are incredibly important in a potential job candidate; the person must match the role that is hiring and they must have the experience and knowledge to be able to do the job well. But hiring managers are also looking for someone who will be a culture fit. This is important for both the company and the job seeker because even though the role might be the perfect fit on paper, there will be a lack of longevity and growth if there isn’t a culture fit as well.
That’s why the candidates Advanced Hires place have such a high retention rate (96%). We make matches by considering factors beyond just skills and years of experience. We look for people who are going to get the best out of the workplace and thrive in the culture of the company that is hiring. Many of our clients stress how important it is to find candidates who will match their company culture, and vice versa. This is one of the many factors Advanced Hires recruiters consider when speaking to job seekers and hiring managers alike.
