Q: What questions should I be asking at the end of my interview?
It really depends on what you are looking for from the position and what you want to convey to the hiring manager. If you have a certain question, or one comes up in the process of the interview, absolutely ask it! Otherwise, it’s always good to come prepared with a list of questions that you can ask at the end of the interview because it shows initiative and interest. These questions should be ones you legitimately want/need the answer to, so don’t make up questions that have one-word answers. One of the best things you can ask about are questions that assess the culture of the company. Culture fit is an often overlooked aspect of the hiring process and one that is extremely important; if you don’t connect with the culture of a workplace, it’s going to be hard to succeed there. That’s why Advanced Hires focuses so diligently on making matches that don’t just consider the qualifications and skills of the candidates. We understand the importance of culture fit and plan accordingly.
Some of the other things you can ask are:
- What is a typical day like in this role?
- Why did the previous person leave this role?
- What kind of growth or career path do you see someone in this role having?
- What kinds of traits are you looking for in this role?
- What does success look like for someone in this position?
And many more! Advanced Hires recruiters can help you prepare for your interview and come up with a comprehensive and thorough list of questions you would ask the hiring manager. Reach out to us today to learn more!
