Q: With the holidays approaching, how can I show my employees that I appreciate them and am grateful for all the work they do?

Lunch

A great way to show your employees you appreciate the work they do is to treat them to lunch. If you’re back in the office, you can order in for your team. If you’re still remote, it’s simple enough to have lunch delivered to your employee. This is a simple and very appreciated way to show your employees you care. Make sure you are aware of any dietary restrictions or food allergies if you do this.

Summer Fridays

Another easy way to show your entire team you are happy with their work is by letting them know that Fridays during the summertime will slightly shorter. Releasing employees a few hours early during the summer is a great way to motivate and inspire them, and let them know that you value them and the work they’re doing because you’re indicating that you trust them to get their tasks done by the end of the week.

Social Media Recognition

Our world is very digital and there’s no better way to show an employee you’re proud of them than by highlighting their work and accomplishments on your company’s social media channels. If they are okay with it, you can even tag them and direct your followers to connect with them as well.

Celebrate milestones with a gift card

This includes life and professional milestones, such as work anniversaries, new births, promotions, and birthdays. Getting an employee a gift card and keeping a master list of things like birthdays and work anniversaries can be extremely helpful in remembering these important dates.

Learning opportunities

Offering employees a chance to further develop their skills is helpful for them as well as the company. Offering learning programs, or certificates can incentivize an employee to stay with the company longer and become a stronger internal employee in the process.
