Advanced Hires and is hosting a holiday Book Drive with Literary Services here in downtown Milwaukee this season! Literacy Services of Wisconsin partners with motivated adults to provide access to quality basic education and skills training so they can improve their lives, enrich their families, and strengthen our community.
Every four seconds of an American school day, another student drops out. That’s 7,000 students a day—or nearly 1.3 million a year. These alarming figures from the Alliance for Excellent Education, a Washington, D.C. based policy institution, illustrate the problem of adult illiteracy across our country. An under-educated adult population, combined with discouraging rates of poverty and unemployment, have generated significant social and economic challenges in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This is why Literacy Services of Wisconsin (LSW) is increasingly important to the community where we live and work.
For more than five decades, LSW has helped motivated adult learners who want to improve their education, particularly those who dropped out of school years ago. Advanced Hires is extremely committed to this cause and is a strong proponent of education for everyone, no matter their age or social position. That’s why Advanced Hires is proud to partner with LSW and collect books this holiday season for donation.
If you are interested in donating, we have a drop-off box at 233 N Water Street. Simply enter the building (to the left of the MKE Ale House) and walk down the hallway, past the bathrooms and elevators, and find the drop-off box in front of the mailboxes by the backdoor.
