The Advanced Hires team has made personal and professional goals going into the new year and thought that instead of sharing what those are, it would be more helpful to talk about how to achieve those goals. It’s well and good to set resolutions at work, but how can you keep them? Our team has experience in furthering the career paths of not just themselves, but of clients and candidates. In this new blog series, we will explore what tips we have to offer and how you can make your professional goals a reality.
Senior Recruiter Vicki Johnson says that their advice for anyone trying to complete a professional resolution this year is to INVOLVE YOUR PASSIONS.
Professional goals should align with your life goals or dreams. It’s motivating to have something to work for that can improve your life. If you dream of a vacation house on the beach, a trip to Africa, or want to retire early in life, those aspirations can connect to your professional goals as well. Maybe your goal is to donate to a cause you love every month, or be able to help your family. Whatever it is, always have something driving you that you are working to attain.
People always have to remember to work to live, not live to work. If you use professional success to meet life goals, it’s far more probable you will be successful as well as happy. Start with one or two small goals first so that they can be met and create that sense of accomplishment that will help you see that it CAN work. Your efforts can make anything happen in life so long as you have the passion for that goal and the dedication to do what is needed to get there.
