Advanced Hires is proud have contributed to Project ChildSafe, a non-profit organization aimed at promoting firearm safety and education to keep children safe. The proper handling of weapons and locking weapons up from within the reach of children is important.
Each year, 5,790 children in the United States receive medical treatment in an emergency room each year for a gun-related injury. About 21% of those injuries are unintentional, which comes out to $1,215 injured due to the mishandling of firearms and/or not locking firearms up. From 2012 to 2014, on average, 1,297 children died annually from a gun-related injury in the United States. Of these, 78 children died due to the mishandling of firearms, which include leaving loaded weapons in the home within the reach of children.
From 2005-2010, almost 3,800 people in the U.S. died from unintentional shootings, including adults, which once again speaks to the mishandling of weapons.
